Complete Map of the Airlines of K.N.I.L.M.

Drawn in an art deco style by Dutch commercial artist Jan Wijga for KNILM (Royal Netherlands Indies Airways), this map charts the airline's routes across the East Indies archipelago and parts of Southeast Asia, reaching from Bangkok to Darwin and from Sumatra to New Guinea. The former Dutch East Indies are picked out in vivid colour with vignettes of local people, architecture and wildlife; solid lines mark existing routes and dotted lines proposed ones, including KNILM's planned amphibious services to the eastern islands. At the centre is a Lockheed Model 14 Super Electra, the 14-passenger aircraft of the KNILM fleet.
