Rights and Obligations

This lithograph poster was produced to rally support for the Dutch colonial mission in Indonesia at the end of World War II. Featuring personified figures such as the Dutch lion and the Indonesian Garuda, the poster symbolically calls for national duty and loyalty. With striking imagery of flags, swords, and volcanoes, it visually frames the Netherlands' presence in Indonesia as a shared responsibility between the colonizer and the colonized.
