The original manuscript was written in '05 according to the Japanese calendar system, which was then the year 2605. The manuscript, composed by Mohammad Hatta (1902-1980) and Achmad Soebardjo (1896-1978) and written by Soekarno (1901-1970), was retrieved by B.M. Diah (1917-1996) from the trash at the home of Admiral Tadashi Maeda (1898-1977), a high-ranking Japanese occupation official in Indonesia, shortly after the manuscript was copied and typed by Sajoeti Melik (1908-1989).
