NICA-money? No!

A propaganda poster created by Poesat Tenaga Peloekis Indonesia (P.T.P.I.) in 1946 captures the spirit of “pembangunan” (nation-building). It features a powerful illustration: one hand offering money labeled “wang NICA”, and another hand pushing it away. The message reads, “Tolaklah Oeang NICA”, which translates to “Reject NICA Money”, urging Indonesians to resist Dutch bribes. This poster is part of a scrapbook titled We Struggle with Posters (P.T.P.I.), which documents reproductions of resistance posters created by the collective between 1945 and 1947.
