It reflects Japan's ambition to establish the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, a vision of a united Asia led by Japan. Posters like this, along with magazines, were designed to portray a positive image of a so-called "Asia for Asians" and to win the sympathy and support of Indonesians for Japan’s imperial agenda.
