Family Album in the Dutch East Indies
Bound in blue with decorative floral and geometric motifs, the album contains family portraits, domestic scenes, and numerous photographs of a sugar factory in Purworejo. Compiled primarily between 1916 and 1918, the album also reflects later additions and losses: several photographs are missing, damaged, or cut out, and loose prints were found inside. Names recorded in the album point to an interconnected colonial social network.
