Djawa Hokokai

Djawa Hokokai, also known as the People's Service Association, formed in 1944, succeeding PUTERA (Center of People's Power). PUTERA was replaced as Japan realized its ineffectiveness, prioritizing Indonesian interests. Djawa Hokokai aimed to mobilize people's service spirit for Japan's war efforts, masquerading as homeland defense. It encompassed various organizations, directly under Japan's administration. Posters stressed the importance of serving Japan. (Budiarto, 2021)
