Bamboe Roentjing
“Bamboo Spears Ready to Drive Out Invaders.” These words were not from a notice board but written on a simple sheet of paper preserved in the National Archives of Indonesia. They are part of posters and pamphlets from the 1945-1950 struggle period. During the physical revolution, these words rallied the spirit of resistance. Indonesians fought fiercely to defend the independence proclaimed on August 17, 1945. The posters and pamphlets aimed to awaken the consciousness of all Indonesians to the gravity of the nation's struggle at that time.
